A client asked me if an AI could pick their paint colors
I was doing an estimate in Portland last week and the homeowner showed me an app that uses a picture of your room to suggest color palettes. It was way off, picking a cool gray for a south-facing room that gets tons of warm light. Made me wonder if these tools get trained on bad data. Has anyone else seen AI give weirdly wrong advice for a specific, hands-on job?

What about regional light differences?

The data from the Paris study showed light quality varied more by building density than region. I feel like local architecture and weather patterns matter way more. Why would a coastal city and a desert town hundreds of miles apart get grouped together?

My buddy Thomas moved from Seattle to Phoenix for work a couple years back. He told me the first month he kept messing up his photos cause the light was so different. In Seattle everything is soft and gray most of the year, but Phoenix has this harsh direct sun that blows out highlights if you don't compensate. He had to relearn his settings just to get a decent shot of his breakfast burrito. Have you noticed a big shift like that when traveling?
