Dropped $150 on a ChatGPT plugin that promised to automate my research, and all it did was summarize Wikipedia articles wrong.

It kept citing sources that didn't exist and I wasted a whole weekend fact checking garbage. Anyone else get burned by a hyped up AI tool that just flat out lied?

$150 for a Wikipedia summary bot that hallucinates sources?

And that's exactly what I've been seeing everywhere lately, @thomas291. It feels like half the apps and services coming out now are just a thin wrapper around something free, with a price tag slapped on. You see it with all these "AI powered" tools that are just ChatGPT with a different paint job, charging monthly fees for what anyone could do in five minutes themselves. It's like the tech world forgot that people can spot a $5 product trying to sell for $150.
