Tried using Midjourney for product photos last week and it went sideways fast

I was working on this small batch of handmade soap for a craft fair in Portland and figured I'd save cash by generating product photos with AI instead of hiring a photographer. Spent about 6 hours tweaking prompts to get the lavender bar to look right, but every result had weirdly melted edges or text that read like gibberish. Finally gave up and borrowed my neighbor's DSLR instead. Has anyone actually gotten AI to produce usable product shots without major editing?

Kinda gotta disagree here. Midjourney has done solid product pics for me once I stopped trying to make it perfect and just cleaned up the tiny flaws in photoshop later. The time saved vs setting up a full shoot is worth the 20 mins of editing for me.

Yeah I gotta say you might be right. I was pretty hard against using AI for product stuff until last week when I had a client need a mockup by noon and my lighting setup was acting up. Threw it in Midjourney with some basic prompts, got something 80% there, then spent 15 mins in Photoshop fixing the shadow and adding the logo. Looked fine on their site. Never would have admitted that six months ago but the time difference is undeniable.
