Drying herbs in the air fryer changed my seasoning game

I used to either dehydrate herbs in the oven for 6 hours or buy the expensive jars at the store. Last week I tossed fresh rosemary and thyme from my garden in the air fryer at 170F for 8 minutes and they came out perfect, still green and crumbly. Anyone else tried drying stuff besides the usual veggies?

Oh great, now my air fryer wants to steal the dehydrator's job too. I guess I should be happy my kitchen appliances are such overachievers. I've been eyeing my air fryer lately wondering what else it can dry out besides my hopes and dreams of making perfect fries. Honestly though, I bet it would do a number on some basil if I could keep the leaves from flying into the fan. Maybe I'll try it with mint next, since that stuff grows like a weed and I need an excuse to use it up. Just don't tell my oven I'm cheating on it with a smaller, hotter gadget.

Try putting a toothpick under the lid to let moisture escape without blowing herbs everywhere.
