Fell for the hype and bought a $40 silicone air fryer liner - total waste of money

I saw everyone online raving about those silicone liners for air fryers, so I grabbed a 3-pack off Amazon for $40. Figured it would save me scrubbing the basket every time I made wings or fries. First use was fine, but after the second run, the thing started sticking to my food like crazy. The little holes got clogged with grease and it wouldn't drain right, so my chicken tenders came out soggy on the bottom. I tried washing it in the dishwasher and it warped a bit, then it just had this weird smell after a few more cooks. Now they're sitting in a drawer and I'm back to just spraying the basket with oil and wiping it down. Has anyone actually found a liner that doesn't ruin the crispiness?

Oh man, that's rough but honestly not surprising. I fell for a similar thing with those silicone baking mats for my regular oven. Everyone swore by them, but mine started smelling like burnt plastic after a few uses no matter how careful I was. Ended up giving them to a friend who insisted they work fine for her, so maybe it's just how we cook or what temps we use. Your mileage may vary on this stuff.

Wait, so you gave them away to a friend who's just fine with burnt plastic smell? That's either a really good friend or someone who's lost their sense of smell years ago. I guess some people must have taste buds made of steel or something. Maybe it's all part of that whole "natural flavor" thing we keep hearing about. Did you ever find out if your friend ended up using them long term or just gave up after a few weeks too?
