Hot take: frozen fries in the air fryer beat homemade every time
I mean, I tried making them from scratch three times last month, and they were always soggy or burnt. The bag of Ore-Ida crinkle cuts I grabbed on a whim came out perfect in 12 minutes. Has anyone else given up on homemade fries?

Totally feel you on the homemade fries being soggy or burnt. The trick is soaking the cut potatoes in cold water for like an hour to get rid of the starch, then you gotta dry them completely. Even then, it's a whole process and frozen ones are just consistent. Sometimes convenience wins.

My air fryer changed the game for me, @riverg75. I still soak the potatoes but skip the deep frying mess. They come out crispy every time without the hassle.
