I always thought you couldn't put a wet batter in an air fryer, but a cooking blog post from 'The Kitchn' proved me wrong.

Couldn't put wet batter in" was my exact thought too.

Actually, I've put wet batter in my waffle maker before and it worked fine. You just have to be careful not to overfill it. The key is using a thick batter so it doesn't run out the sides before it starts to cook.

Does the air fryer actually cook the inside before the outside turns into a total mess? I've tried wetter batters in a standard deep fryer and the coating usually just slides off unless it's frozen first. Wouldn't an air fryer's strong fan just blow the loose batter around before it sets up?
