My air fryer basket just cracked after 8 months of daily use

I was pulling out some chicken tenders last night and heard this sharp ping. Looked closer and there's a hairline crack running right through the nonstick coating on the basket. Had to toss the whole thing since I don't trust eating food that touched cracked coating. Anyone had luck getting a replacement from the manufacturer without jumping through hoops?

Is the coating actually cracked or just the basket itself?

Oh man, that ping sound is the worst... I had the same thing happen with mine a few months back. @gavin_clark, actually it's usually the nonstick coating that cracks first, not the basket itself - the metal underneath is still fine but the coating flakes off in little pieces. I don't blame you for tossing it either, I wouldn't want to eat that stuff either. For getting a replacement, I'd just call their customer service number instead of emailing or filling out a form online. The phone people seem to have more power to just send a new basket without making you prove you registered the warranty or anything. Just tell them exactly what happened and they usually send a replacement pretty quick if you're within the first year. My friend got one replaced at like 10 months no problem.

The phone call thing is definitely the move. I tried emailing them about mine and got some automated response back that didn't even address what I said. Called them up the next day and had a new basket in three days. The guy on the phone didnt even ask for a receipt or anything, just took my name and address. Their email team is probably just some outsourced thing that cant do anything. Phone people have the real power, simple as that.
