My neighbor in Portland gave me a bag of frozen tater tots three years ago.
I tossed them in the air fryer on a whim and now I can't imagine cooking them any other way. Anyone have a good recipe for homemade tots that actually get crispy?

Proves most things just need the right tool to finally work.

Frozen food from the past always seems to hit different. There's a weird magic to finally using something you've had forever. The air fryer just makes that delayed payoff even better.

Three years in the freezer is a serious commitment. Those tater tots had more patience than I do. An air fryer was the perfect way to honor their long wait, it really does make everything crisp up right. I tried making homemade tots once and they turned into sad, soft potato lumps. The key seems to be getting all the moisture out of the potatoes before you form them. What kind of potato did you use for your homemade try?
