My sister told me my chicken wings were soggy and now I preheat the air fryer for 5 minutes every time

The air fryer preheat thing is the real deal. I used to just throw food in cold and wonder why it came out uneven or kinda sad. But then I started preheating for a full 5 minutes too, and the difference is night and day. For stuff like wings or frozen fries, that hot start makes the outside crisp up way faster before the inside gets dry. It clicked for me when I realized it's basically the same as waiting for your oven to hit temp. Have you tried tossing them in a little baking powder before cooking?

Man preheating was the game changer for me too. I used to get so frustrated with soggy fries and unevenly cooked chicken, felt like I was wasting food and time. Once I started letting it run empty for a few minutes, everything just came together. The baking powder tip is solid, I do that with wings and it makes the skin ridiculously crispy without drying out the meat. It's wild how such a small step changes the whole result, makes you wonder why you didn't try it sooner. Glad you figured it out too, it makes cooking way less of a letdown.
