My wife bought an air fryer and I thought it was just a tiny, loud oven
Honestly, I gave her so much grief for spending $80 on it at Target about two months ago. Then she made frozen fries in it, and they were actually crispy, not soggy like from our regular oven. The real game changer was when I tried a pork chop in there last week, it came out juicy inside with a perfect crust. Anyone else have a food that totally changed their mind about these things?

Wait, you got a decent air fryer for only eighty bucks? That's the real surprise here, mine cost way more and I still complained. The pork chop trick is a total lifesaver for weeknight dinners. My partner did chicken wings in ours and they were better than takeout, no lie. It's crazy how something so simple can work that well.

Honestly though, is an air fryer really that much better than a regular oven? My sister's makes the whole kitchen smell like burnt oil every time. Plus it's just another gadget taking up space. I tried reheating fries in one and they came out weird and dry. Sometimes the old ways are just simpler.

My buddy Mark was the biggest hater of air fryers I've ever known. He went on a whole rant at dinner about how it was just a tiny convection oven that took up counter space and made everything taste like a hair dryer. Then his wife made salmon in it one night when he was grumpy and tired from work, and he said it was the best salmon he'd ever had at home, not dry at all. He texted me a photo of the crispy skin and admitted he was wrong, which hurt him more than admitting his fantasy football draft was a disaster. @nathan545 mentioned the pork chop trick above, and I bet that would have won him over even faster, he loves a good crust on meat. Now he's the guy telling everyone they need one, total 180.
