Parchment paper liners almost ruined my air fryer last Tuesday
I threw a liner in with some frozen fries at 400 degrees and the paper flew up into the heating element, started smoking, and now I just use a bare basket with a quick spritz of oil instead, has anyone else had that liner disaster happen to them?

Saw @dixon.amy's comment and had to laugh because same thing happened to me. I was making chicken wings and the liner flew up so fast it looked like a ghost was playing with my air fryer. The smoke filled up my whole kitchen and set off the fire alarm, scared the crap out of my dog. I actually called my buddy who's a firefighter and he said liners are a known hazard if you don't weigh them down with food. Now I just spray the basket with a little oil and call it good, never messing with those paper things again. You really saved me from a worse disaster with your story.
