PSA: My frozen chicken wings took 45 minutes, not 20

I put a bag of frozen wings in my air fryer last night, expecting them to be done in the time the recipe said. They were still raw inside after 20 minutes, so I had to keep adding time in 5-minute chunks until they were safe to eat. What's the real time for cooking frozen wings from your experience?

Honestly, those recipe times are never right for frozen. It totally depends on your air fryer model too, mine runs hot. I always start with 25 minutes on a lower temp to thaw them out inside, then crank it up. Even then, it's a full 40 minute job, easy. You just have to keep checking, no way around it.

You mentioned adding time in 5-minute chunks. Were they the big, meaty jumbo wings or the smaller ones? That makes a huge difference. My air fryer needs almost 50 minutes for the big frozen ones, flipping them halfway through.
