PSA: Skip the expensive air fryer liners, they're a scam
I bought a pack of those silicon air fryer liners for $15 last month thinking theyd keep my basket clean. First use with some frozen fries and the thing floated up and touched the heating element. Melted plastic smell filled my whole kitchen and I had to air out the house for hours. Bought a pack of plain parchment paper circles on amazon for $3 and they work way better. Anyone else have a liner fail on them or am I just unlucky?

Oh boy, yes. I bought the exact same silicone liners and had the same disaster. Mine floated up and got tangled in the heating coil while I was making chicken tenders. The smoke was so bad my smoke detector went off and I had to open every window in January. Ended up tossing the whole batch after two tries. Now I just cut a square of regular parchment and fold it into a circle. Works fine and costs pennies. Those silicone things are a total racket.

@bettyk53 did yours warp in the dishwasher too or just during cooking?
