Rant: Air fryer salmon is way better than oven baked and I can prove it in 12 minutes flat

Last week I made salmon in my air fryer at 400 for 12 minutes and it came out perfectly flaky with crispy skin, while the oven version I tried 3 years ago took 20 minutes and left me with dry fish, so has anyone else ditched their oven for good after trying this?

Nah the air fryer is good but you gotta give the oven another shot. Try 375 for like 15-18 mins on a greased pan, that usually gets the skin crispy without drying it out. Your oven might just run hot or cold, mine took some testing to figure out. Also throwing a bit of butter on top before baking helps lock in moisture.

Wait, did you season the oven salmon at all or just throw it in there? Because the problem with oven baked salmon is that people treat it like they're roasting a chicken and ignore the fact that it's a delicate fish that needs attention. I air fry salmon sometimes, sure, but the oven gives you way more control over the texture since you can adjust the heat slower if it's a thicker cut. Dry salmon usually means you cooked it too long or didn't oil the pan enough, not that the oven is worse. The air fryer is just a tiny convection oven that circulates heat fast, which can actually overcook the outside before the inside is done if you're not careful. I'd rather take an extra 8 minutes for the oven and get a consistent result than gamble with a 12 minute blast that leaves me with a raw center and burnt edges.
