Rant: That $40 silicone liner ruined my air fryer crisp

Oh man, that sucks so bad! I had the exact same thing happen with one of those silicone baskets that was supposed to keep my sweet potato fries from sticking. Now the coating on the air fryer basket itself is all bubbled up and peely in spots. I bought mine for the crispy texture too and now I get food that's kinda soggy on one side. It's like you try to make things easier and it just backfires.

Wait, has anyone tried just lining the basket with plain parchment paper instead? I had a similar thing happen with my old air fryer, @lee733, and I just use a cut piece now and it works fine. Maybe it's just me but I feel like the silicone stuff is more trouble than it's worth for fries.
