Spent a whole weekend trying to get crispy tofu in my air fryer - here's what worked

I've been trying to make crispy tofu in my air fryer for months and it always came out soggy. After probably 6 failed batches, I finally figured out you have to press the water out for at least 30 minutes and then coat it in cornstarch before cooking. It took me 3 hours on a Saturday to get it right but now it's Perfect every time. Has anyone else had this issue or found a quicker fix?

Spent way too many weekends in the same soggy boat myself. Cornstarch is the real MVP for sure, @ryan_clark40 beat me to that shoutout. Took me about 4 failed batches before I even thought to try it - felt pretty dumb after that honestly. Pressing the tofu for 30 minutes is the worst part though. I found you can get away with 15 minutes if you use paper towels and a heavy book on top, your mileage may vary but it saves some time. Still have to accept it's gonna be a bit of a project no matter what you try, crispy tofu isn't exactly a quick snack.

Cornstarch is basically the cheat code for air fryer tofu.
