Talked my mom out of buying a $200 air fryer - and honestly I feel bad about it now

I told her the cheap $40 one at Walmart would work just as good, but after trying her soggy fries last Sunday I realized the cheap ones really don't circulate heat right. She spent 30 minutes disappointed and I felt like a jerk for pushing budget over function. Has anyone else convinced someone to go cheap and regretted it?

Yo did your friend ever convince their mom to buy a cheap vacuum and then it died after like two weeks? Cause that happened to my buddy Ryan, his mom still brings it up at Thanksgiving.

Man, I've been there. She'll probably never let you forget about those soggy fries either. The thing is, those budget air fryers just don't have the wattage or fan design to actually crisp things up right. Next time, maybe compromise and look for a mid-range one on clearance - I snagged a decent Gourmia for $60 at Target that actually circulates heat good enough my wife stopped complaining.
