Visited my mom's place in St. Louis last week and noticed her old air fryer from 2018 still going strong next to my newer one that I've already replaced twice.

She uses it every single day for frozen fries and chicken tenders, never cleans it right, and it still works perfect, so has anyone else noticed older models lasting way longer than the fancy new ones with all the digital features?

Preach. Got my mom's old air fryer from 2017 in my garage still kicking. Bought a new brand last year, all touchscreen and fancy presets. Display died in 6 months. Warranty replacement had the heating element go out at 10 months. Dug out the old one and it's been flawless for a year straight. New ones just feel cheap, like they're built to break. Glass touch screens are a gimmick, give me a simple knob any day.

Honestly, "glass touch screens are a gimmick" is the realest thing I've read all day. If the digital display starts acting up, try unplugging it for a full 30 seconds and plugging it back in. That fixes my newer one about half the time when the buttons get unresponsive.
