Went to a friend's house last weekend and saw their air fryer overflowing with frozen chicken tenders
They just dumped a whole bag in there, no spray oil, no shaking halfway through, and the bottom ones came out all soggy while the top ones were burnt. I tried to give them tips but they said it's fine because it's just easier that way. How do you handle people who refuse to use an air fryer the right way?

Just tell them it's fine, they should keep doing it their way and enjoy their sad, unevenly cooked chicken tenders. Some people treat an air fryer like a trash can where you dump food and hope for the best. It's honestly offensive to the appliance. You can lead a person to proper air frying technique but you can't make them shake the basket. At least you know their version of "crispy" is basically a texture lottery.

@gray_schmidt8 I get what you're saying but I think you're being a little too harsh on the people who don't shake the basket. Some of them probably just don't know better. You know how it is when you first get an air fryer and you think it works like a regular oven where you just set it and forget it. I made that mistake myself with some frozen fries once and they came out half burnt half raw. But the real issue is when you actually try to tell them nicely and they get all defensive about it like you insulted their cooking. Then again there's something to be said for letting people figure it out on their own because some folks just have to learn the hard way. The texture lottery comment was spot on though.
