3 hours of swearing over a fuel injector line - then I tried the boiling water trick
Spent all morning fighting a stuck fuel injector on a Cessna 172, ended up dropping the whole line in boiling water for 2 minutes and it came off easy. Anyone else got unconventional hacks that actually work on stubborn parts?

Yeah I read somewhere that heating up stuck bolts like that works because it expands the metal just enough to break the rust bond. My buddy tried the hot water trick on a truck caliper bolt that was seized for ages and he said it was night and day. I usually just cuss and reach for the breaker bar but now I gotta rethink my whole approach.

That thing about expanding the metal to break the rust bond makes sense. I had a lawnmower blade bolt that hadn't moved in like 10 years, and nothing I did would budge it. I was about to just give up. I ended up pouring a pot of boiling water right over the bolt and letting it sit for a minute. Came off with a regular wrench after that. I felt stupid for not trying it sooner.
