Am I the only one who changed how they handle wire bundle routing?

Honestly, I used to just zip tie everything tight and neat, thinking that was the professional way. Then I had a Cessna 172 come back with a chafed wire bundle after about a year, right where it passed through a bulkhead. My old boss in Wichita told me to always leave a little slack and use that spiral wrap instead of tight ties on long runs. I made the switch six months ago and haven't had a single chafe issue since. What other small changes have you guys made that actually fixed a recurring problem?

My shop switched to silicone tape for firewall penetrations and it solved our corrosion problem.

Guess it took us all way too long to figure that out. Classic case of the simplest fix being the last one you try.

Man, that corrosion is the worst. We had the same headache for ages before we switched over.
