Appreciation post: I fought against digital torque wrenches for years, but a job in Miami broke me

Honestly, I used to swear by my clicker wrenches, thinking the digital ones were just expensive toys for new guys. Then I got a contract doing heavy checks on a fleet of 737s where every single critical bolt needed a logged reading, and my old method was costing me hours. Ngl, I bought a digital wrench after three days of that misery and it cut my time per engine by like 40%. Has anyone else been forced to switch tools on a specific job and actually been glad about it later?

Haven't you guys run into issues with those digital wrenches glitching out in humid weather? I was on a job in New Orleans last summer and mine kept throwing error codes every third bolt because of the moisture, had to switch back to my old clicker just to finish the shift. Plus when the battery dies at 2 AM and you're hunting for a charger in a hangar with no outlets nearby, suddenly that "time savings" doesn't feel so great.

My old shop in Dallas made us switch to digital for all turbine work.

Yeah, that tracks. I read an article about how the FAA is really pushing for full digital logs to cut down on paperwork errors. It's a pain to switch over but probably the way everything is going.
