Dropped $180 on a 'lifetime' torque wrench calibration that was just a sticker and a prayer
Sent my CDI 2503 to a shop in Tulsa that promised NIST traceable certs for life. Got it back with a fresh sticker, zero paperwork, and the needle still reading 6 ft-lbs off at 100. Turns out the guy was just printing labels in his garage. Anybody got a real lab they actually trust for this?
It's the same deal as those "lifetime warranty" shops that just swap your part for a used one and hand it back with a smile. Everybody's selling the word lifetime now, nobody's actually doing the work behind it. For real calibration you want a place that emails you the as-found and as-received numbers, not a sticker.
