Finally got my A&P ticket after 18 months of night classes

I passed my last oral and practical exam last Tuesday at the school over by the Memphis airport. The inspector was this older guy who used to work delta heavy maintenance back in the 90s, and he grilled me on engine ice protection systems for almost 45 minutes. I was sweating bullets but somehow pulled through. Its been a grind working deliveries during the day and studying wiring diagrams at midnight. I celebrated by buying myself a new snap-on ratchet that cost way too much, but whatever. Now I just need to find a shop that will take a fresh mechanic without experience. Anyone got tips for landing that first gig at a regional carrier?

Read somewhere that the regional carriers are hurting so bad for mechanics right now they're practically begging for fresh A&Ps. Buddy of mine got on with Endeavor straight out of school last year and said they're super chill with new guys as long as you don't lie about what you know. That snap-on ratchet thing is real though. Spent $400 on tools my first year and still felt like I was missing stuff. Maybe hit up some of the smaller MROs around Memphis first. They usually take green guys and you'll get to touch a bunch of different planes before moving up.
