I thought those new composite patch kits were just a fad

We had a small crack on a cargo door frame, and the manual called for a full section replacement. A guy from the Denver hub brought in one of those bonded composite patches. I was sure it was a temporary fix at best. After seeing it hold up to three years of pressure cycles and cold soaks with zero issues, I had to admit I was wrong. Has anyone else been pushed to try a repair method they didn't trust at first?

Honestly, it's just a door frame crack. The real test is if it holds on a primary structure under real stress, not a cargo door. Three years is nothing in the grand scheme.

Well, that reminds me of my old porch steps. Looked fine for years until the whole thing gave way one rainy morning. Sometimes the small cracks tell you more than the big tests.
