Learned the hard way that torque specs are dry unless it says otherwise
I was torquing a nose gear strut bolt last Tuesday and snapped it clean off because I never checked if the manual called for wet or dry threads. A guy with 30 years on heavies in Tulsa asked me if I lubed the threads and I said no, and he just laughed and handed me the spec sheet. How do you guys keep track of which fasteners need lube and which ones don't without flipping through the book every single time?
