My torque wrench flipped a reading 40 ft-lbs high after a drop

I smacked my Snap-on digital torque wrench off the hangar floor last Tuesday while pulling an APU. Next day it read 40 ft-lbs over the set value on a calibration check. I had just torqued 16 bolts on a flap track before that drop. The unit passed its yearly cert back in March, so I never thought to recheck it. Lesson learned, I now have a beam-style backup I use after any impact over 3 feet. Has anyone else caught a silent sensor shift from a simple knock?

yeah same thing happened with my digital angle torque wrench after I dropped it off a workbench onto concrete. it was fine for like two weeks then randomly showed 15 degrees off on a cal check. that silent drift is scary cause you think you're good and you're not. I ended up just going back to my old beam wrench for anything critical now, it's annoying but at least I can see what it's doing.
