Vent: Fell for that fancy torque wrench calibration service that promised a 24hr turnaround
Paid $180 to have my Snap-on torque wrench calibrated at that shop near DFW and they kept it for 11 days and then said the calibration was off anyway because I'd been using it on hydraulic lines without a swivel adapter - has anyone else had that happen with aviation-specific wrenches?

That 24hr turnaround claim is probably just marketing fluff to get your foot in the door, not a real promise. Did they even give you a written estimate on time or just say it over the phone?

Heard a similar story from a buddy who used a roofing company that promised the same thing, took them five days and three ignored voicemails to even call him back. If they won't put a date in writing, that's usually your answer right there. Safe bet is to ask for a timeline in the email or contract before you hand over any deposit.
