Vent: Tired of seeing people use the wrong viscosity oil in PT6 engines

Three times this month I've seen guys slinging 15W-50 into those things when the manual clearly says 5W-40 for cold weather ops. Does nobody actually read the maintenance manual before they pour?

Are these guys REALLY that confident they know better than the manual, or do they just grab whatever's on sale at the parts counter?

Different take - some of these guys have been turning wrenches on PT6s since before some of us were born and they've seen what works in real conditions. The manual is a starting point, not the gospel according to Pratt.
