Appreciation post: A client in Denver said my panel labels were a mess

They pointed out their elderly mom couldn't read my tiny handwriting during a false alarm. Now I use a big, bold label maker for every single zone. What's your go-to method for making systems easy for customers to use?

My own handwriting is so bad it could cause its own false alarm.

Oh man, I feel that. I switched to a label maker with the big, black, block letter tape. It's not pretty, but you can read it from across the room. I also group the labels by floor on the panel door to cut down on the panic-scramble.

Keep a sample panel door in my truck with clear, grouped zone labels printed in 36-point font. It helps me show customers exactly what they’re getting before I install it. @palmer_zara your handwriting comment made me laugh because I’ve definitely done the same thing more times than I’d like to admit. The key is making the labels big enough that even someone’s grandmother can read them during a crisis.
