Customer asked me to disable the siren, then their house got hit a month later

I had a guy in Phoenix last spring who insisted I set his panel to silent alarm only because the siren scared his dog. I told him it was a bad idea, but he was paying, so I did it. One month later his place got broken into at 2am and the cops took 11 minutes to get there. He called me upset, and I couldn't really say I told you so, but has anyone else had a customer push back on siren volume or delay settings and then regret it?
