Rolled my eyes at those wireless repeaters in Tulsa, now I swear by them
Back in March I told a customer their panel dims would never talk through that poured concrete wall, but the repeater kit they bought off Amazon linked up in about 15 minutes with zero fuss. I still hate the setup software, but the range gain on that ranch house was way better than my old hardwire run would have been. Anyone else come around on a gadget you used to trash talk to customers?

...and honestly I was the same way for years. I kept telling people to just run cable or deal with the dead zones, figured those little boxes were all hype. Then I helped a buddy with a stubborn garage setup last month, just to prove a point, and that thing linked up so fast I didn't even get to finish my "I told you so" speech. The software still makes me want to throw the router out the window, but the actual signal jump surprised the hell out of me. Now I just tell clients to try it before they let me start drilling holes. Guess I'm eating my words a little, but it's better than eating the cost of a wasted hardwire run.

Well, I hear you on the software part, my own setup makes me want to yell at it every other week. But if it saves me from one more attic crawl with a drill, I'll take the dumb box and keep my sanity.
