Spent $450 on a cellular backup module and it already paid off

I used to think cellular backups were a waste for residential jobs, but last month a customer's landline got cut during a storm and their DSC system went silent. Grabbed a TL280RE from my supplier for $450 and installed it, and two weeks later the same house had a break-in attempt and the alarm reported instantly over LTE. Changed my whole view on skimping on backup comms. Any of you guys using cellular as primary now?

Already paid off" - yeah okay Mr. Lucky. You do realize you just spent $450 on a backup that PROVED it was worth it in TWO WEEKS. That's like buying a fire extinguisher and having your house catch fire the NEXT DAY. I swear cellular backups are like insurance policies for people who actually get struck by lightning. Meanwhile I've got three TL280REs sitting in my van collecting dust because my customers think texting is "good enough." But I guess when it WORKS it REALLY works. Congrats on being the one guy whose gamble actually paid out.

$450 for a backup that paid off in two weeks, thats like me buying a new drill and my truck breaking down the same day. I feel you @iris_rivera44, most of the time these things just sit there mocking you. My first TL280RE sat in my van for 4 months until I finally threw it in a buddies house, then their cat knocked the DSL modem off the shelf and the panel still called out. Dumb luck either way.
