Training a new hire led to an unexpected alarm test
I was showing him how to reset a motion detector, and he tripped it with his coffee mug, lmao.

Lol the coffee mug trigger is too real. We had a sensor at my old office that would go off if you breathed wrong near it. One time a cleaner's cart set it off just rolling by slowly. Another time my own keys jangling in my pocket did it. Those things are ridiculously sensitive sometimes.

Sounds like that sensor would go off if a fly sneezed three rooms over. Our break room one freaks out if you open the microwave door too fast. At this point, the real security threat is the alarm giving everyone a heart attack.

Actually grantk61, that story about the cleaner's cart is kind of why I want them sensitive. Think about it, a real thief isn't going to stomp through. They'll move slow and quiet, just like a rolling cart. If the sensor only caught loud bangs, it would miss the sneaky stuff. I'd rather it go off for keys or a cart and get checked out than not catch someone being quiet on purpose. The noise is annoying but it means it's working.
