Had a moose block my truck near Fairbanks last Tuesday

Sat there for 45 minutes waiting while it chewed on some willows. Now I always keep a can of bear spray and extra snacks in the glovebox just in case. Anyone else have close calls with wildlife on the road?

Forty five minutes? That's rookie numbers. I got stuck behind a herd of bison on the Denali Highway for two hours once. They just stood there. Staring at me. Like they owned the place. I started honking and they flicked their tails at me. Real jerks. Now I carry a slingshot just to make noise. Never hit anything. But it feels good to threaten.

My cousin got stuck behind a flock of wild turkeys in Vermont once for almost an hour. They were just strutting across the road like they were on a casual Sunday stroll. @aaron677, I feel you on the slingshot thing, I tried throwing a pinecone at one and it just turned around and puffed up at me. Honestly, bison sound a lot scarier than turkeys, especially if they start flicking their tails like that. Ngl, I think you need a bigger slingshot or maybe just a really loud airhorn. Two hours of that would make me want to start a protest outside their field.
