Hot debate: do you winterize your RV with compressed air or just pump antifreeze through?
I always used the antifreeze method until last winter when a buddy in Anchorage showed me how blowing out the lines with air saved me $40 in coolant and avoided that sticky mess, but now I'm wondering if the air trick leaves hidden pockets that freeze up - which side do you guys take for Alaska winters?

blowing out the lines with air saved me $40" until the compressor condenses moisture inside your pipes, then that trapped water freezes and cracks everything from the inside out. Haven't seen anyone mention that dry winter air in Alaska is actually a hidden risk.

Heard a buddy of mine swear by compressed air blowing for years until last winter when it backfired hard. He thought he cleared the lines fine but the compressor must have pushed some damp air in, then that pocket of water froze in a valve and split the brass fitting clean off. Cost him way more than $40 to replace the whole zone valve and he had to flood the system to thaw it out. I mean, maybe it's just me but I'll stick with the old bucket and RV antifreeze trick after seeing that mess.
