Just looked up how much ice Alaska has lost since I moved here in 1998

Found a report from the Alaska Climate Research Center saying the state has lost about 75 billion tons of glacier ice a year since the mid-90s and it really hit me different because I remember when Portage Glacier came right up to the visitor center. Has anyone else noticed trails changing or creeks drying up in places they used to be reliable?

Guess all that ice went on the same diet I did.

Wait, hold on @cameron_owens49 - you're telling me that massive shelf of ice just vanished? Last I checked, that thing was like the size of Rhode Island or something crazy. That's honestly terrifying when you think about how fast things are changing up there.
