Just realized I've been to the Kenai River 27 times in the past five years
I was cleaning out my truck and found all my old fishing tags. Counting them up, I've made the drive from Anchorage to Cooper Landing 27 times since 2019. It's wild because I never kept track, but that river just pulls me back every chance I get. Anyone else have a spot they keep going back to without even realizing how often?

My old log book says I've done that Anchorage to Cooper Landing run 32 times.

Totally get it!
Counted my own boat launch receipts last year and almost fell over. It's not even about the fish every time, you know? Sometimes you just need to stand in that one spot where the air smells right and your brain finally shuts up. That drive is part of the ritual, the whole thing just scrubs your soul clean.

That's a serious amount of windshield time. What is it about that particular stretch of water that hooks you? Is it the consistency of the sockeye run, or just the way the light hits the mountains in the evening? Some places just feel like a reset button.
