My uncle told me to always pack a headnet for the Kenai in July

I thought he was being dramatic, but I went fishing near Cooper Landing last summer without one. The mosquitoes were so thick you could barely see the river, and I ended up cutting the trip short by two days. Anyone have a good bug spray that actually works up there?

Oh man, you learned the hard way! I swear those Kenai mosquitoes could carry off a small dog. @jake157 has the right idea looking like a beekeeper, because at that point who even cares about style? A headnet isn't drama, it's just basic survival gear. No spray in the world can fight off a cloud that thick. You just have to accept looking a little silly so you can actually enjoy being outside.

My last camping trip I looked like a beekeeper who lost a bet. @oliver_mitchell is right, the headnet was a lifesaver, even if I felt like a complete dork wearing it.
