Spent $400 on a heated vest and it totally saved my winter fishing trips

Honestly, I was skeptical about dropping $400 on a Milwaukee heated vest for my ice fishing trips up near Fairbanks. But after last January when it hit -20 and I stayed out for 6 hours without shivering once, I'm a total convert. The battery lasts about 5 hours on high, so I just swap in a spare halfway through. My buddy tried a cheaper $80 version from Amazon and it died after two uses, so I guess you get what you pay for. It's not just for fishing either, I wear it shoveling the driveway and walking the dog. Has anyone else tried a heated jacket or vest for long days outside in Alaska? I'm curious if the battery life holds up for you too.

That "you get what you pay for" line always makes me roll my eyes a little. I've had a $60 Chinese brand heated vest last me three full winters without a hiccup, so sometimes you're really just paying for the name on the chest.

Honestly that's just life though, people pay extra for peace of mind.
