That week in June near Seward where everything just clicked

Last June I spent 5 days camped off the road past Exit Glacier and the salmon were running so thick you could practically walk on them. We caught our limit by 7am each morning and even spotted a whole family of otters playing in the lagoon on day 3. The weather held at 62 degrees the entire time, which felt like a miracle after all the rain I'd dealt with in May up in Anchorage. Has anyone else had a trip where the timing and conditions lined up that perfectly, or was it just dumb luck for me?

Heard a guy at the gas station in Girdwood talking about that same week, said the water was so clear you could see the salmon stacked up like logs. We had a similar thing happen two summers back over by Homer, where the halibut were biting nonstop and the tide pools were full of starfish, felt like nature was showing off on purpose. Timing's half luck but part of it's knowing when to show up, and June after the snow melt is always the sweet spot if you can catch a dry stretch. Otters though, that's the kind of thing you remember forever, we got a sea lion that followed our boat for an hour and my buddy still brings it up every trip.
