Had to pick between subbing and dubbing for my first serious watch of FMA Brotherhood

I finally sat down to watch Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood last month after putting it off for years. I usually watch everything dubbed because I like to multitask while watching, but everyone online says the sub is way better for this one. Decided to go with the sub for the first 10 episodes to see what the hype was about. Honestly, I struggled hard at first with keeping up with the text and the action on screen at the same time. Switched to the dub around episode 11 and never looked back, it just felt more natural to me. Has anyone else picked one over the other and regretted it midway through?

Wait but did you feel like you missed any emotional moments with the sub? Vic Mignogna's voice for Ed is so iconic that I feel like the dub might hit different after a whole season of the original Japanese.

Oh man, I have to disagree there. I think Vic's performance is great but it's very much a different character than the Japanese Ed. The sub version has a much younger, more vulnerable energy that really sells those quiet moments. The dub Ed feels like he's always performing, even when he's supposed to be breaking down. I just think something gets lost in translation with the pacing of those scenes.
