I used to think 'Your Name' was overrated until a friend made me watch it again

At a small get-together in my friend's apartment in Austin, my buddy Jake insisted we rewatch it. He paused it right after the body swap montage and said, 'Look at how the music syncs with every single scene change, it's not random.' I had never noticed the detail in the soundtrack before, about 12 minutes in. That one comment made me see the whole film as a crafted piece, not just a pretty love story. Now I get why people analyze it so much. Has anyone else had a rewatch totally flip their opinion on an anime?

Totally! I felt the same way about Madoka Magica, it just seemed weird until a second watch made the whole thing click for me.

Funny how some shows need that second pass to really land, right?

Nah, @abby_henderson, I got it the first time. That twist hit way harder when I had no idea it was coming.
