Switched from weekly episode threads to binge-watching after my second rewatch of an old show
I used to live in those live reaction threads every Saturday night, but after I rewatched FMA:B for the third time last month, I realized I was just arguing instead of enjoying the story. Now I go in blind and marathon it in two days, but I miss the hype of a fresh discussion. Anyone else feel like the community lost something when they stopped watching weekly?

Wait, isn't the binge just making the same arguments but faster?
I get the appeal, but the weekly wait is what made the community fun for me. You had time to sit with an episode, read what others caught, and let the theories build up. Binging feels like eating the whole cake in one sitting instead of savoring a slice each week.

Eating the whole cake in one sitting" is exactly it, but for me the weekly wait was always more about the dread lol. Like I remember a show I watched years ago, every week I'd sit there with my coffee and just stress about what cliffhanger they'd leave us on. By the time Sunday rolled around I'd completely talked myself into a dozen wild theories that made zero sense. Binging just kills that whole ritual, you know? You stay up till 3am finishing it and then suddenly it's over and you're just lying there staring at the ceiling with nothing to look forward to.
