That week my anime club fell apart over a sub vs. dub debate

Last month our small group of 8 people had a regular Tuesday meetup, but someone mentioned they only watch dubs and another person called that 'not real anime'. By the end of the night, 3 people had left the chat and we haven't had a meeting since. Has anyone else seen a simple preference argument completely kill a community?

So the 8 of you let a whole club die over sub vs. dub? That's wild to me. I've been in a few anime groups over the years and yeah arguments happen but most people just laugh it off and move on. Calling someone's preference not real anime is pretty dramatic though, I'll give you that. But honestly it sounds like those 3 people were looking for an excuse to leave anyway if a simple debate sent them packing. My crew has dubbed lovers and sub snobs and we just roast each other for it then watch whatever's on the schedule that week. Maybe try reaching out to the ones who stayed and see if they want to restart with a rule that everyone's opinion is valid.
