Ugh, that's the worst. I swear we all have a word like that we've been quietly mispronouncing for years.

Remember my friend who said "epi-tome" instead of "epitome" for like a decade? @patricia_wells We were at a diner and she used it in a sentence, and the guy at the next table just slowly turned his head. She was so embarrassed, but we all just started laughing. The worst part is she'd read it in books a ton and just never heard it out loud. It's crazy how your brain can lock in a wrong sound for a word.
