I finally had a washing machine fall on me last Tuesday in Tulsa
I was working on a Samsung front-loader in a cramped laundry closet, and I forgot to lock the drum on the tilt. Thing came right over on top of me, pinned my leg against the wall. I managed to get my impact driver and pop the front panel off while lying on my side, but it took me 20 minutes to wiggle free. My leg is still bruised, but the customer's machine is fixed. Would you rather have a safety strap system or just roll the dice like I did?

You ever look back and realize you were just lucky for years? I used to scoff at the guys who strapped their machines down, figured a little care was enough. Then I got pinned under a Whirlpool cabrio last spring, same kind of deal, popped my kneecap out of place. Now Ive got a cheap ratchet strap in my van, takes thirty seconds to loop around the door frame. It was a hard lesson, but sometimes getting flattened is the only way you learn.
