Just compared spring clamps vs. zip ties on a fridge drain line

Last Tuesday I was unclogging a freezer drain on a Whirlpool in Bakersfield. Used zip ties like always but they slipped after 20 minutes. Grabbed some spring clamps from my van and the line stayed put through the whole defrost cycle. Anybody else find zip ties useless for holding drain tubing in wet conditions?

My buddy tried using those heavy duty zip ties on his LG fridge last month and they snapped right when the ice started melting. Water went everywhere, soaked his garage floor. He got so mad he switched to those spring clamps from Harbor Freight. They held the tubing tight the whole time, no issues at all. Zip ties just don't grip right when moisture gets involved, they get slick and slide off. That's why I only use spring clamps now for any drain work in wet spots.

Yep, my buddy used zip ties and his whole basement flooded last week.
