Just read a stat about dryer fires that made me double-check my own service calls
I was looking at a fire department report from my city and it said lint buildup causes over 15,000 home fires a year. I realized I've been rushing through vent checks on dryer repairs to save time. How thorough are you guys on the full exhaust path, not just the drum area?

Honestly those vent checks are such a pain for a tiny risk. Most dryers will give plenty of warning before anything serious happens anyway.

Claire you're underrating how fast that stuff can go wrong lol. A buddy of mine ignored the smell for two days and came home to soot stains on his ceiling from the heat buildup. By the time dryers start giving obvious warnings the lint is already packed tight enough to catch a spark.

Oh man, @claire_hayes35, my neighbor's dryer vent clogged and it smelled like burnt dust for a week before they noticed.
